Hollywood Presbyterian Implements New Contract

The employer has agreed that all terms and conditions of the ratified contract are now in effect. The most immediate issue is changes in floating clusters. Managers and supervisors have notified the nurses of these changes.

An employee must agree to float outside of his/her cluster.  Note that the ICUs are now closed as is DOU and Telemetry, so if the census drops and you want work, you will have to notify Staffing that you are willing to float outside of your cluster. These clusters apply to both RNs and LVNs. The new float clusters are:

1. ICU CC ICU (formerly SICU, CICU, MICU)

2. DOU/Tele Definitive Observational Unit, Telemetry

3. Med Surg 10T, 3 South, 4 South, Asian Pavilion

4. Surgical Services OR, PACU, ASC, GI Lab

5. Perinatal

a) L & D — Modified closed status: L&D staff will fill unanticipated vacancies/openings in a schedule. Other staff will not be floated to L&D unless the following conditions exist:

i. L&D staff unavailable/unwilling to fill need for additional staff; and

ii. Registry/agency staff not available; then

iii. MBCU staff will be floated to L&D to perform tasks for which they have been deemed competent.

b) L&D staff will float to MBCU

c) MBCU, Pediatrics, Nursery

d) NICU — Modified closed status: NICU staff will fill unanticipated vacancies/openings in a schedule. Other staff will not be floated to NICU unless the following conditions exist:

i. NICU staff unavailable/unwilling to fill need for additional staff; and

ii. Registry/agency staff not available; then

iii. Peds, Nursery float to NICU to perform tasks for which they have been deemed competent.

e) NICU floats to Peds and Nursery

6. ED

7. Cardiology — Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology

8. Chalet — Closed; however, may volunteer to float to/from Chalet to/from any Med/Surg unit.
