St. Joseph RNs Set to Strike Feb. 8!

January 28, 2015

We’ve served our employer with notice that we intend to hold an economic and Unfair Labor Practice Strike for 5 days starting on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015. PSJMC management has repeatedly implemented unilateral changes to our working conditions without bargaining over them first, such as with Shift Select and the Kronos “upgrade,” and others that include health and safety issues for us and our patients.

Also, management has not consistently honored our right to take legally mandated breaks (10 minutes for every 4 hours worked) and meal periods that must all be uninterrupted. They’ve further disrespected us during negotiations by offering minimal wage increases that are contingent on our acceptance of PTO accruals based on hours worked rather than FTE status, as well as complete elimination of our ESL banks.

We deserve respect!

Strike hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day from Feb. 8 to Feb. 12. All members should join the strike line whether you are scheduled to work on any of these days or not, including night shift RNs. More info to follow.
