Monterey Park RNs Join 121RN & Negotiate Strong First Contract

After bargaining all day and late into the night today on Nov. 11, the Monterey Park Hospital RN Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement on their first contract. It includes the following wages, benefits and workplace improvements:

Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) - 12-hour shift RNs will now be paid straight time at a higher base rate (OT included in base pay), and it increases the value of PTO and other economic benefits.

Wage Scale - All RNs below their step in accordance with years of experience will be brought to the right step.

Wage scales will grow by 2.5 percent in 2017, 2.5 percent in 2018 and 3 percent in 2019.

Guaranteed Across-the-Board (ATB) wage increases of 3 percent in 2016, 2.5 percent in 2018, 2.75 percent in 2019 and 3 percent in 2020.

Retro pay from July 2016

Retiree medical benefit (contributions by employer, none required by employees)

Bilingual bonus pay for interpreters who qualify

Night and evening shift differentials of $4/hour and $3/hour respectively.

Weekend shift differential of $2.50/hour

Availability list bonus increased for FT RNs from $70 to $100.

Improved language on discipline, health and safety and much more!
