Workplace Violence Prevention Regulation Effective April 2017

Employers must begin implementing the three recordkeeping and reporting requirements in the new Cal/OSHA Workplace Violence Prevention Standard for Healthcare by April 1, 2017.  The Workplace Violence Prevention Plan itself, training employees on the Plan, and reviewing the Plan will be implemented by April 1, 2018. Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez (D-51) attended the SEIU 121RN December Executive Board meeting where he spoke about his legislative accomplishments in Sacramento. This year, he passed a law that will revamp the Paid Family Leave Act to make it more accessible for all Californians. Read more

College Hospital Membership Continues to Grow

SEIU 121RN welcomes the College Hospital Cerritos LVNs and LPTs to our local. While the RNs were preparing to begin bargaining, we were informed that management initiated a campaign against the LVN/LPT Bargaining Unit at College Hospital of Cerritos to have them become non-Union and thereby eliminate their job security and other guaranteed benefits.
