Staffing Problems Persist

The hospital regularly fails to staff units to their own staffing plan as required by law. Charge RNs carry their own patient load. A patient in ICCU recently had to wait until morning to receive a CT scan that was ordered because there were no RNs available to take the patient to the scanner. Our Union has filed a staffing complaint with the DPHS.

Tentative Agreement Reached — Ratification Vote This Friday

After intense negotiations over three days June 29-July 1, our RN Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement (TA) with management on a new Union contract.

Our Healthcare is Under Attack!

Management is insisting that we accept their health plan proposal, or they will not offer additional wage increases or benefit improvements. They only offered 1% wage increases for the next 2 years of a 4-year contract. We’re being held hostage to their health plan proposal!

Dignity Not Bargaining in Good Faith, Delaying Process

After today’s bargaining session, it became apparent that Dignity management will insist on implementing their own health plan regardless of whether or not it works for us.

Bargaining Update for June 3-4 Sessions

Page West, Senior Vice President, System Chief Nurse Executive came to discuss nursing issues at our facilities as well as within Dignity. She dis-cussed priorities that involve Humankindness, Educational Opportunities and the Health and Safety of RNs. We gave her copies of our proposals re-lated to many of these issues and hope that she will support us as she has committed to doing.
