New Contract Bargaining Has Begun
Registered Nurses at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center began bargaining a new contract on May 27 and May 31. The current contract expires September 30, 2011.
Our Bargaining Team consists of :
Kevin MacVane, Short Stay Shelley Vickrey, OR Stella Kennedy, OR Eileen Kenny, Cath Lab Brenda Blanco, 5N- Acute Rehab
Currently our union team and hospital management are gathering information in order to settle four outstanding grievances:
- Blood Donor Center time card fraud
- New Grad hourly start rate
- Flexing and call off
- Per Diem increases from 2010
Our union and the hospital worked together to ensure that all registered nurses had years of experience credit documented. This makes a huge difference in pay increases for the RNs.
Clinical Ladder open enrollment is July 1, 2011 to September 30, 2011. RNs should start getting their documents together so they are ready to meet with their manager and review what they have accomplished over the past year.
