After our Union’s discussions with management Feb. 23, management’s proposal to lay off RNs was pulled of the table. Management said it is “not prudent to move forward with reductions at this time based on the current census.”
Our Union will continue to meet with management to discuss staffing alternatives. We are hopeful that these alternatives will ensure each unit is properly staffed for each and every shift. This includes enough staff to meet mandated nurse-to-patient ratios, provide for all meal and rest breaks, and provide for the safe care of patients while on the units and during transport within the hospital.
