...and What’s Not Regarding RN Bargaining with Dignity Health

Our Bargaining Team has heard that some members have allegedly been told that our SEIU 121RN Bargaining Team asked for an exorbitant pay increase for RNs. This is not true. In fact, pay increases and other economic issues have not yet been proposed or discussed. Period.

One thing we would like for members to know is that management continues to insist that our Union standards be removed from our contract even though they have withdrawn their proposal to remove Union standards from the contract of our sisters and brothers in UHW.

We fought over many years to have workplace standards included in our contract for improved patient care and RN safety. We will not agree to delete these protections from our contract. Why is management continuing to insist on changing the protections in our RN contract?

Other Bargaining Notes

Nursing Registries Nurses who can’t afford to lose several days of pay need to sign up with a nursing registry as soon as possible. While we ideally want every RN out on the picket line, we don’t want you to have financial consequences that can’t be remedied. If we go on strike, it will likely be of a defined length of time and not open-ended like you’ve seen with some unions.  Here’s what you will need to sign up with a registry:

□          Immunization record □          Fit test □          Fire card (LA County only) □          CPR certification card □          Copies of certifications □          Employee health records (make take up to 72 hours)
