Election Day Update: April 3 was a *BIG* day for Nurse-Powered Politics

April 4, 2018

Congratulations to our endorsed candidates Assemblymember-Elect Sydney Kamlager (Assembly District 54; Culver City, Baldwin Hills, West Los Angeles), and Jesse Gabriel (Assembly District 45; Western San Fernando Valley), who was the top vote getter last night and now moves on to the June 5th run-off election.

“2018 is already starting out to be a big year,” said SEIU Local 121RN President Gayle Batiste, RN, CNOR at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. “We have an opportunity to strengthen protections for patients and nurses (SB 1288), tackle structural racism, advance economic justice, stand up for immigrant rights and move California forward on environmental justice. We will achieve this by electing candidates like these who share our values and by making sure we hold our elected leaders accountable once they’re in office.”

Be a part of our Nurse-Powered Politics efforts in 2018 to push for laws that improve patient and nurse safety, and elect leaders who value the care we provide! Visit bit.ly/NPP_2018 to learn more.
