SB 1288 ALERT: We've learned that our bosses over at the California Hospital Association are telling legislators and the Governor's office that there's no need for our "Stop Repeat Offender Hospitals" bill. They're saying that staffing just isn't an issue, that our floors are hardly ever short staffed.
Good grief.
Clearly, our elected leaders need to hear from us to get a clear picture of what’s really going on in our hospitals. That's why we're urging ALL RNs concerned about hospital staffing to take ALL four of these actions:

Have you heard about what RNs are up to at St. Joe's? After management at St. Joseph Medical Center suddenly and drastically slashed CNA shifts, RNs got into gear and sounded the alarm. In the past couple weeks, they showed up at a Burbank City Council meeting (read the press release »»» here), got this issue in the news (read the article »»» here) and invited Senator Anthony Portantino to see what's going on. He committed to urging the hospital to sit down with us. So far, the hospital hasn't budged. Stay tuned to this important campaign for patient and nurse safety.
