Union Nurses spoke up and worked with hospital management to create a new Code Blue/Rapid Response Team. Now, we'll have eight full-time and four half-time RNs dedicated to responding to codes. This means that there will be two code RNs on duty at all times so that ICU and Charge RNs are no longer called away from their floors, leaving dangerous staffing gaps in those units.
