South El Monte nurses protest after hospital suspends labor, delivery ward.

From the San Gabriel Valley Tribune: Nurses at Greater El Monte Community Hospital silently protested the temporary closure of the hospital’s labor and delivery ward with signs on Wednesday, May 20.

Hospital administrators said the coronavirus pandemic is keeping other patients, including expectant mothers, away.

Because it’s the only hospital in El Monte area, nurses say closing the ward hurts expecting mothers in the community.
