When we negotiated our first Union contract with the hospital, we fought to establish a wage scale that was tied to how long each of us has been a licensed Registered Nurse in California.
But instead of honoring our legally-binding contract, hospital management withheld our proper rates of pay.
That was before our RN leaders filed Union grievances, taking the case all the way to arbitration. The arbitrator ruled in our favor, including forcing the hospital to pay us back with interest.
All Nurses should now be at the correct pay scale step and backpay amounts have been calculated. If you were not being paid at the correct pay scale step, you can expect a check during the week of 8/21/2020.
