After months of working under dangerous conditions, Nurses delivered a petition to the hospital demanding COVID-19 testing, hazard pay, adequate PPE and safe staffing levels. In response, management implemented a $5/hour “Hero Pay” and began testing all patients, as well as offering on-site testing for staff.
