The LA County Federation of Labor consists of over 300 affiliated union and labor organizations representing more than 800,000 members. Speaking before a packed house of our Union brothers and sisters from across the LA area, Monique explained how safe staffing—end enforcement of Nurse-to-patient ratios—impacts us all.

Monique shared highlights from our campaign to hold hospitals and the California Department of Public Health accountable, from our 2023 march on the Ventura County offices of CDPH, to our Secretary-Treasurer Joyce Powell’s riveting testimony before a Senate Budget Committee panel. Monique concluded her presentation to applause and a strong call for solidarity—urging her fellow union members to sign onto our petition calling on CDPH to enforce the law.
